5 Essential Products I Use to Get a Perfect Matte/Airbrush Finish!

All-Time Favorite Face Makeup
for a matte/airbrush finish

Rimmel London Fix and Perfect Pro Primer
Revlon Colorstay Foundation
Hard Candy Glamaflauge Concealer
Maybelline Dream Matte Powder
Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray

These are my all time favorite products for the perfect matte look! I get the perfect flawless look with these products!  My skin has never looked so perfect!

Just to reiterate, my skin type is oily/combination. This is why I prefer a more matte look than a dewy look. I want my skin to always look flawless and matte without a caked on look. With using these products, as well as my skin care products, I have a flawless/airbushed look that lasts all day! And no I'm not stretching the truth!

This is an un filtered photo of my makeup freshly done. I do have blush and bronzer on. Those will be in a separate post.

Primer
Rimmel London Fix & Perfect Pro Primer

After moisturizing, and before you apply any makeup, you need a primer. Primers a designed to prep the skin and create a barrier between the skin and makeup so your skin does not absorb the pigments of your makeup. It protects your skin from any makeup that may clog your pores.

Now, some people only use a moisturizer instead of a primer but I use both because it works best for my skin type. I've only tried one other primer before this one and that one was the Revlon Beyond Natural Smoothing Primer.

Differences-
The Revlon primer is really silky smooth, but it felt oily to me and since I have oily skin, this didn't work well for me. This would be more suited for someone with dry skin. It didn't seem to really make my makeup stay on all day either.

The Rimmel primer is smooth also, but it doesn't feel oily at all! And the fact it mattifies is what really stood out to me. Now, Rimmel makes two primers. The other one has a pink tint to it and if you have really light skin like I do, I wouldn't recommend the other one unless you have a pink undertone. This primer is the BOMB! I don't even care if there's other drug store primers out there, this one works so perfect for me! The first day i used this, after 5-6 hours, my face still looked flawless! And this was before I bought a setting spray.

Usually after an hour or so, you can't really see my bronzer or blush anymore. With this primer, after a day running errands in the 100 degree dry heat of Texas, my bronzer and blush were just as pigmented as it was when i first applied it earlier that morning! That's when I fell in love with this product. It really made a big difference!

Foundation
Revlon Colorstay for combination/oily skin (they also make this for dry skin)

This is by far the best foundation... ever!

I use makeup brushes to apply all of my makeup and with this i use a Stippling Brush(duo-fiber). I blend 2 layers of this on first to even out my complexion and then start stippling it on. This really does make the color stay on all day! It's an amazing foundation! It's not too liquidly, but not too thick either. They do make a mousse version of this also which I do have but i accidentally grabbed the wrong shade. But since I live in Texas now, I've gotten pretty dark but not dark enough to use the mousse foundation.

In combination of using this with the stippling brush, my face looks airbrush and perfect! Absolutely no complaints about this foundation. It's so perfect for my skin and I don't get any breakouts from this at all.

Concealer
Hard Candy Glamogflauge Heavy Duty Concealer

This concealer is strong enough to cover a dark black tattoo. If that isn't proof enough that this is awesome, I don't know what is. It covered redness, acne and dark circles. I need to get a lighter version of this so it covers my dark circles under my eyes better, but I haven't gotten a change to go get it.

I use a small concealer brush to apply this. I pat it on, not rub it on. Patting it makes the pigments in this concealer stand out more than rubbing it in. After I do that, I use my stippling brush again over any acne and under my eyes to add to a airbrush look.

I apply this after my foundation. Using a concealer after you use foundation helps it stand out more. Using it before foundation doesn't seem to be affective because you have to blend your foundation. Blending the foundation over concealer just makes it disappear and you would need to reapply the concealer.

Powder
Maybelline Dream Matte Powder

Before this, I only used the Covergirl powder for oily skin. I used that ever since I started wearing makeup and now, I can't believe I ever used it. It never seemed to actually control oil. Plus the color wouldn't stay long either and it gave me a caked on look.

So, I decided to give myself a change and research powders and this Maybelline one is AMAZING if you want a matte look without a caked on look! I thought this would make my face look caked on, but after using this for the first time, I'm hooked!

I apply this with a powder brush. BUT I don't brush it on like you would think you would. I take the side of the brush and pat it in the powder and then pat it on my face, not brush it on. Why? Because since I used a stippling brush, my face already looks airbrushed and I don't want to rub the powder in and ruin the look i already got. I learned this from a makeup artist on YouTube.

I don't know why I didn't think to do this before! It makes so much sense to do that instead so you don't smear your foundation and bring back all of the acne and redness that you already concealed! Go check out his video!

Setting Spray
Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray

I recently just bought these ones Ebay. They're super small and I use this 4 times before I'm done with my makeup, yet the bottle is still mostly full!

This is the first setting spray i have ever used. Since I now live in a state with no humidity and just straight dry heat, I needed something to make my makeup stay all day even if I started to sweat. And this passed the test! Yes, my primer does  seem to make my makeup last longer, but this stuff is like liquid gold in a bottle. It drys quickly, its not sticky, it's doesn't feel like I put hairspray on my face- there's nothing I don't like about this! Urban Decay does make this for oily skin called "De-Slick" but I have not tried it yet. I've heard really great reviews about it and how it really helps control oil! I need to finish up what I have first before I go get anything else.

And that is how i create a flawless/matte/airbrush look! Thanks for visiting!

My secret to instantly dry and harden nails at home in only 10 minutes!

The Problem

So you're sitting at home on a Friday night, bored out of your mind and you notice that your nail polish has been chipping off. You decide to start new and re-paint your nails because chipped nails just aren't cute.

When you finish painting them, after that second top coat, you suddenly get a call from your friend and they ask you if you want to go out. No one wants to sit home on a Friday night so of corse you say yes!

But what about your nails? You don't have that spray that the salons have to instantly dry your nails and you can't do anything until they harden or else you'll get nail polish everywhere and smear it!

The Solution

That's right! My little secret tip is something that can be found right in your own kitchen! And the best part is that it only takes less than 10 minutes to completely harden your nails! No more smeared nails after all that hard work to get them perfect!

Step 1

Right after you finish that top coat, wait about a minute or two for it to semi-dry. You can easily speed this process up by blowing gently on them or put them in front of a fan. You can also get your handy dandy blow dryer out and set it on low and hold the cold button down and hold it a little bit away from your nails so it doesn't indent them from the air pressure.

Step 2

Grab some Pam, I recommend the original Pam as shown in the picture above. Haven't tried the one with butter or any others, but this one will defiantly do!

Oh, and while you're in your kitchen, go ahead and get a bowl, possibly one thats big enough to fit all your nails in at once so you don't have to do each hand separate. Fill it with water and add a few ice cubes to it. If you don't have ice, take the bowl of water and set it in the freezer or even the fridge. If you do this, I recommend doing it before you paint your nails so the water is really cold when you're done painting.

Once your nails have semi-dried, hold the Pam about 4-5inches from each nail. It's easier to do each nail separate than just spraying it all over. You don't want an oily mess!

Spray each nail for only a second! You don't want the pressure of the compressed air to indent the polish!

This is just like using those sprays they have at nail salons!

Step 3

You should have that bowl of water ready, or go ahead and take it out of the fridge/freezer. I usually have a lot of ice in my bowl before I do my nails that way when I'm ready for this step, most of the ice has already melted and the water is super cold!

Go ahead and stick your fingers in the water just enough so your nails are completely submerged. Try and keep them in the water for 3 minutes at first. It's going to be cold.. Really really cold! If its not, add more ice and or stick it back in your freezer.

Try and not give in and take your fingers out of the water!! The whole point of this is to freeze the nail polish and therefore harden it instantly. Beauty is pain! And if there's no pain, there's no gain! So hang in there!

If after 3 minutes they still are soft, you can leave them in longer. You really want that water freezing for better results!

How to Make Sure it's Hard

You can either simply touch the nail polish, or you can take a hand towel and gently push it against you nail. If it leaves small little patterns from the towel, you should be able to gently rub the nail and smooth it out because the oil from the Pam helps you smooth out without smearing it! This is why i use both of these techniques together! It helps you know if you need more time in the water.

You can gently wipe the oil off of your fingers, try not to touch your nail polish unless you're completely positive they're harden as I said above.

Step 4 (optional)

If you have more time, you can take your hair dryer or fan and use that again on your nails. This is totally optional! Usually my nails are hard by now and I'm able to use my hands without worrying about my nails being ruined.

You still have to be careful, but most of the time the nails harden by now.

The Results

You now have nails that are completely harden! Now it's time to get ready and not worry about smudging your nails! Time to go out and have nails that look professionally done without spending a fortune at the salon!

The Most Important Part of My Skin Care Regimen!

See this ladies and gents? This is my best friend. This is Dial anti-bacterial soap. It's non scented and I use this religiously if I'm touching my face in anyways.

Since I easily get breakouts, Ive been cutting down on touching my face whatsoever! I even invested in makeup brushes so i don't have to touch my face to apply makeup.

I even keep this in the shower and after I wash conditioner out of my hair, I go ahead and wrap my hair in a towel while still in shower. I then use 2 pumps of this and rub my hands.

In my head, I sing "happy birthday" twice because that's the amount of time you need to kill the bacteria on your hands. Wash off the soap, and then use my cleansers.

The reason my i put my hair in a towel first is because after I wash my face, I don't want excess conditioner to get on my face. I want my face to be completely clean.

As you can see, I'm very OCD with my face.

Even at night i scrub my hands with this soap, then wash my face. The after I use my toner, I was my hands again and then apply my moisturizer.

Sometimes ill use my flat foundation brush to apply my moisturizer as well just so I don't have to touch my face with my hands.

If you ever need to touch your face, wash your hands! You don't know what on your hands that could cause a break out! And plus you don't want the oils on your hands on your face.

This is an essential key part of keeping a beautiful looking face! A lot of people forget to wash their hands when touching their face.

I also use this soap on fresh tattoos. It's very safe and doesn't dry out the tattoo!

Plus the bright side of this product is that its under $2!

Clean and Clear Dual Moisturizer Review!

Now this is a perfect moisturizer for oily/combination skin!

It's super lightweight and contains Salicylic acid so it all treats acne.

I love this stuff! Especially right after I use a benzoyl peroxide as a mask. I'm totally in love with this! My face does tend to dry out after the Neautrogena mask and the Olay toner i use. After the toner drys on my face, I apply 1-2 pumps all over my face.

I do apply it on my T-Zone as well and don't notice any extra oiliness. It's the perfect moisturizer!

Now, Benzoyl Peroxide is anti bacterial. It  kills the bacteria on your face and allow more oxygen into your pores for a healthy glow. Salicylic acid is anti inflammatory.

This is why I use the Neautrogena  as a Cleanser/Mask, and the Clean and Clear dual moisturizer as a lotion!

If you have some dry areas on your face as well as oily skin, I defiantly recommend this! It's not too heavy, it's just the right amount for super smooth skin!

Olay Oil-Minimizing Toner Review!

Before just recently, I have never used a toner regularly nor did i see a point in buying it.

After searching online what I can do to control oil, I learned I need to use a toner after I was my face to get what makeup I had left on my face, even though I already washed my face!

I wasn't a believer until I used it..
This is usually whats been coming off my face after using both of my Neautrogena cleansers.

I am so disgusted that even though I use a cleanser, there was still makeup on my face and clogging my pores!

So the big question is: Does it really eliminate oil?

After 2 months of use, I have noticed a slight difference in the oil on my skin, but not a lot.

Personally, I think it's a combination of my makeup products and this that have helped my oily skin.

After I finish this bottle, I want to buy the Neautrogena Pore Refining Toner. Walgreens and H.E.B. we're always sold out of it when I was deciding on a good toner.

If you have dry skin, I wouldn't suggest using a toner. It may over dry your skin out. Especially this one since it drys up most of the oils on your face.

Neutrogena Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask

This is my holy grail of facial cleansers!

After I use my Neautrogena pore refining cleanser, I use this because the other cleanser doesn't seem to really treat my acne. And this does!

Every few days, right before I go to bed, I leave this on for 5 minutes for a deep clean!

This has helped absorb the oils in my T-Zone so much!

The only downside is if you aren't use to using Benzoyl peroxide, you will notice your skin to be dry. I don't have any problems with this whatsoever!

However, if you have dry skin, I don't recommend this at all. I feel like it was made more for oily/combination skin-like mine.

I use this morning and night right after my other cleanser and it has done wonders for my face!

Any acne I did have seems to dry up over night! I wake up with fresh, clean skin!

After I use my toner and moisturizer, if I have one of those under the skin pimples where you can't mess with it but you really want to and it hurts a lot...

...You know what I'm talking about. ...

... i use this as a spot treatment as well!

It drys up my acne overnight and it defiantly drys up my oily skin! It's perfect!

If you do go in the sun a lot, I recommend you use a foundation with SPF because this can cause sunburn and peeling. I also recommend a moisturizer after use.

Hair Growth Update! Plus Lo'real Total Repair 5 Damaged-Erasing Balm and Garnier Moroccan Oil Reviews

So remember those side effects of the Miconazole Nitrate 2% I told y'all about?

I have the worst headache ever...

I'm diluting it tomorrow night with my new L'oreal Total Repair 5 Damaged-Erasing Balm and some Garnier Moroccan Oil!

Why am I Using these products?

It says it reverses years of damage in one use, but to me, it really doesn't. It's taken a few uses to actually help but it does work!

I love these products!

My holy grail of hair products is Garnier Moroccan  oil! This is my second bottle and I use this so much everyday and I had the first bottle for 4 months!

My dry, damaged, and thick hair instantly absorb these oils in the Garnier without any oil residue! Now, I do have an oily scalp so I try to wash my hair every other day, but without using a shampoo every other day because shampoo even seems like too much for my poor hair..

But this product doesn't make my hair feel oily whatsoever! I thought it might with my oily scalp- I was wrong!

I use both Garnier and L'oreal in the shower everyday. I mix them together after I shampoo my hair, i shampoo every other day, days i don't shampoo, I only use these two products in the shower, and clip my hair up while I shave my legs, brush my teeth, ect.

Then, after I wash it out, I squeeze all water in my hair out, put more Garnier on my hairs and run it only on my ends.

After that, I put my hair up in towel.

Once your hair feels mostly towel dried, I put more Garnier just on the ends and run a wide tooth comb through my hair to prevent breaking.

I use the Garnier after I blow dry my hair and also right after I straighten my hair but ONLY on my ends and any dry spots i have.

And remember, the first bottle of Garnier I had last me 4 months and I used it that much and sometimes more when i use it as an overnight mask with the L'oreal.

I recommend both of these products for people with dry, damaged hair caused by chemical dyes and or heat damaged!

...god, no wonder people diluted this stuff....

But without me testing it, people like yourself wouldn't know how the actual effects are!

She convinced me to use the MN for hair growth! She has tons of videos on YouTube that you should check out!
